Booking photos shouldn't feel complicated. Every shoot includes a complimentary consultation, location prep, and help planning your session, so you don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out.

Here are some of the questions I get the most. If yours isn't here, just ask.

WHAT KIND OF PHOTOGRAPHY DO YOU DO?

I photograph people more than anything else. Portraits, couples, families, engagements, surprise proposals, weddings, elopements, courthouse weddings, and creative/editorial work.

My style leans documentary and cinematic. I want your photos to feel natural, lived-in, and like you!

WHERE ARE YOU BASED?

I'm based in Manning, Oregon, right between Portland and the Oregon Coast. I regularly photograph throughout Northwest Oregon, the Portland area, and up and down the coast.

The Oregon Coast is basically my second home at this point, so if that's where you're thinking about shooting, you're in the right place.

DO YOU TRAVEL?

Absolutely.

Travel within my normal working radius is included in your session price. If your location takes me more than 50 miles beyond my normal work radius, I charge a flat $50 travel fee to help cover the extra drive.

If you need me to hop on a plane, that's a different story. I'm absolutely open to destination sessions, elopements, and weddings. Tell me where we're going and I'll put together a travel quote based on the actual costs.

Either way, you'll know about any travel costs before you book. No surprise fees.

DO YOU OFFER A CONSULTATION BEFORE THE SHOOT?

Yep. Every shoot includes a complimentary consultation.

It can be as simple or as detailed as you need. We can talk through locations, outfits, timing, lighting, inspiration, what you're hoping to get out of the session, or anything you're nervous about.

For creative shoots, we can talk mood boards and concepts. For families and couples, we can figure out what kind of setting fits you best. And for proposals, elopements, and weddings, we'll get into the logistics so we're not figuring everything out on the fly.

You don't need to have everything planned before reaching out. That's part of what I'm here to help with.

DO YOU HELP WITH LOCATIONS?

Absolutely. Every session includes complimentary location prep and recommendations.

Tell me the kind of scenery or vibe you're looking for and I'll help narrow things down.

I'm especially familiar with the Oregon Coast and can recommend locations based on scenery, accessibility, crowds, tides, lighting, time of day, and the overall look you're going for.

Want a huge open beach? Forest meeting the ocean? Cliffs? Sea stacks? Dunes? Something secluded? Something easy to access with kids? We can figure it out.

And I know plenty of spots beyond the usual Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock.

I WANT OREGON COAST PHOTOS, BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE TO GO.

Perfect. You don't need to.

I know the coast really well and can help find somewhere that actually fits the occasion and the photos you're imagining.

Different parts of the coast have completely different vibes, and I'll help you figure out what makes sense for your shoot rather than automatically sending everyone to the same beach.

Location planning is especially helpful for family sessions, engagements, surprise proposals, elopements, and couples traveling to Oregon from out of state.

WHAT IF THE OREGON COAST WEATHER IS... WELL, OREGON?

We work with it.

Clouds, fog, wind, and even a little drizzle can honestly make for some incredible photos. I'm not looking for perfect blue skies every time.

If the weather becomes genuinely unsafe or absolutely miserable to shoot in, we'll figure out another time. I'm not going to make you stand on a beach during sideways rain just because it's technically our scheduled session.

I'M AWKWARD IN FRONT OF A CAMERA. HELP?

You're probably a lot more normal than you think.

You don't need to know how to pose. That's my job. I'll give you direction when you need it, but I'm also going to let you move around, interact, laugh, walk, talk, and actually be a human.

The goal isn't to make you perform for the camera. It's to get you comfortable enough that eventually you stop thinking about the camera altogether.

CAN YOU HELP WITH WHAT TO WEAR?

Yep.

You don't have to show up with a perfectly curated wardrobe. If you need help, send me what you're considering and I can help with colors, textures, layers, and what will work with the location we're shooting at.

I'm generally more interested in everyone looking like themselves than making an entire family show up wearing matching beige shirts.

CAN I BRING MY DOG?

Please do.

I've got dogs myself, so I'm fully prepared for a little chaos. Just let me know beforehand so we can make sure the location allows dogs and plan accordingly.

Treats are highly encouraged.

DO YOU OFFER STUDIO SESSIONS?

Yep.

Most of my work happens outdoors and on location, but studio sessions are available for portraits and creative/editorial shoots.

I can also help find a studio that fits the look you're going for. Studio rental costs aren't included in the base session price, but we'll go over the cost beforehand so you know exactly what to expect.

CAN WE ADD FILM TO OUR SESSION?

Absolutely.

I primarily photograph my sessions digitally, but I also shoot film and can add it to your session if you want that unmistakable film look mixed into your gallery.

Because film comes with additional costs for the rolls, developing, and scanning, film is an optional add-on and isn't included in the standard session price. The cost will depend on how much film you want incorporated.

If you're interested, bring it up during your consultation and we can talk through the options and figure out what makes sense for your shoot.

DO YOU OFFER VIDEOGRAPHY?

I personally stick to photography, so I don't offer videography myself.

That said, I know some great videographers whose work I trust and I'm happy to connect you with them. I've built relationships with other creatives around Oregon, and some of my referrals can also get you a discounted rate when we're working together.

DO YOU SPEAK SPANISH?

Sí, hablo español.

Sessions can be done completely in English, Spanish, or a mix of both. If you, your partner, or your family feel more comfortable communicating in Spanish, no hay problema.

Consultations, planning, and shoot-day direction can all be done in Spanish as well.

DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH SURPRISE PROPOSALS?

Absolutely. And we'll plan the sneaky stuff together.

I'll help with the location, timing, lighting, where you should be, where I'll be, and how we're going to pull the whole thing off without ruining the surprise.

My Engagement + Surprise Proposal package also includes a planning consultation, personalized location recommendations, and priority 3–5 day gallery delivery.

DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH WEDDINGS AND ELOPEMENTS?

Yep, but I intentionally only take on a limited number.

My wedding style is documentary first. I want the big moments, obviously, but I also want the weird little moments, happy tears, people losing it on the dance floor, family interactions, and everything happening when nobody realizes there's a camera around.

I offer coverage for courthouse weddings, Oregon elopements, and traditional weddings, with packages depending on the kind of day you're planning.

HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL I GET?

It depends on the session.

Every package on my pricing page lists a minimum number of finished images, so you'll know what to expect before booking.

That said, I'm not going to hide a great photo from you because we hit some arbitrary number. If it's good and belongs in the story, you're probably getting it.

DO YOU EDIT ALL THE PHOTOS?

Yep. Every image you receive is individually edited to fit my style and your session.

I adjust color, exposure, contrast, cropping, and overall feel while keeping things natural and consistent with the work you see throughout my portfolio.

My goal isn't to completely change what you or the day looked like. I want the finished photographs to still feel real.

WHEN WILL I GET MY PHOTOS?

Turnaround depends on what we're shooting:

Portraits, Couples + Family Coast Sessions: 5–7 days

Engagements + Surprise Proposals: Priority 3–5 days

Creative + Editorial: 7–10 days

Courthouse Weddings: 2–3 weeks

Elopements: 3–4 weeks

Weddings: 4–6 weeks

Courthouse weddings, elopements, and traditional weddings also receive sneak peeks within 24 hours.

HOW DO I GET MY PHOTOS?

You'll receive a private online gallery where you can view, download, and share your finished photographs.

Your images are delivered in high resolution with full-resolution downloads included.

And please actually download them instead of screenshotting them from the gallery. I promise they'll look way better.

CAN I PRINT MY PHOTOS?

Absolutely.

Your session includes personal-use rights, so you can download, print, frame, gift, and share your photographs.

I retain the copyright as the photographer, which is standard, but these are your memories. Print them. Put them on your walls. Send one to grandma.

DO I HAVE TO SIGN A CONTRACT?

Yep. Every paid shoot gets one.

It's not some terrifying 47-page legal document. It just makes sure we're both clear about what you're booking, payment, the date, rescheduling, image delivery, usage, and all the other important stuff.

Everything is handled digitally.

WHAT IF I NEED TO RESCHEDULE?

Life happens.

Give me as much notice as you can and we'll work on finding another date. Weather-related rescheduling is also something we'll handle together when necessary.

Your contract will have the exact cancellation and rescheduling terms so there aren't any surprises.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK?

For normal sessions, a few weeks ahead is usually plenty. Summer weekends and popular Oregon Coast dates can fill up faster, though, so earlier is always better if you've got a specific date in mind.

For engagements, surprise proposals, elopements, and weddings, I'd definitely recommend reaching out earlier.

That said, last-minute ideas happen.
